Each of our PADI 5 Star centres employs highly qualified multi-lingual instructors, teaching courses from beginners up to assistant instructors in our guests' native language. Our internal training programs also cover related areas such as customer service, communication, sales skills, organisation skills and software courses. We employ over 100 instructors from many different countries.
Euro-Divers goal is to provide guests with a top diving product giving them access to the best dive spots in the different areas where we are present, in a safe and friendly manner. Through the years we have managed to establish a solid brand name and an excellent reputation as training centre for divers of all levels. We abide to PADI educational standards, to local diving regulations and we have our own policies and procedures contained in our Dive Safety Management System.
PADI recently made it possible to complete part of the divemaster and instructor course on line, this will save the candidate time and allow him/her to concentrate locally only on the practical aspects of the course, unfortunately the divemaster program is available only in English. 1. You must have your PADI (or equivalent) Advanced Diver Certification with a minimum of 60 logged dives.
2. Participation in the divemaster internship program will not be granted to all divemaster candidates. A maximum number of two interns per program will be selected. The selection will be done trough the analysis of the CV (See Application Form)
3. You must have an accident and medical insurance that covers all costs of any eventual accident, illness or medical condition that arises during your divemaster internship, including treatment costs, medications and eventual repatriation if required.
4. If any visa/ work permit is required, you must provide yourself before arriving, failure to do so may result in an anticipated departure and no refund on any courses fees already paid will be granted.
5. Your passport must have a validity of at least one year or more if required by local Immigration Authorities (see Local information).
6. You must have your own complete diving gear as per the PADI standards and in good working condition and presentation
7. You will be provided with all manuals required by the courses that you are taken.
8. Your personal outlook reflects not only your image but also that of the company, therefore you will be required to use company wear at some occasions; it is your responsibility to keep given clothes clean and presentable.
9. At other times, when you use your personal clothes in a resort or around clients, they must also be clean and presentable, conforming to directives given by the Resort (if any) and by Euro-Divers (see Local information).
10. Upon your arrival to the Dive Centre and during the first day of your divemaster internship your assigned instructor/mentor will show you around and introduce you to the team
11. Along the training period you will have at least one meeting with your instructors, mentor & Dive Center Manager to evaluate your performance trough an interview. During this meeting your mentor will raise his/her concerns and will suggest a course of action in case your performance is below the expected by PADI and/or Euro-Divers standards.
12. Approximately 30 days after your start, you will have a meeting with the Regional Manager and/ or the Dive Center Manager to discuss your performance and ask about your feedback on different areas. A full meeting and evaluation will be conducted at the end of the internship program.
13. There is no guarantee whatsoever that you will be employed by Euro-Divers at the end of your divemaster internship program. Off course Euro-Divers is always looking for new members and if your performance on the program is above standards you will be considered for employment.
14. In all our destinations you will be confronted with cultural diversity, often tied with religious beliefs that govern everyday life. Although your political/ religious beliefs are your own, you must show respect to the local laws and regulations. That may involve no public display of your religion or even possession of religious items as well as abstention from sexual promiscuity with local citizens.
15. Alcohol abuse is neither encouraged nor tolerated; as a substance with harmful side effects, there is no room for alcohol use in combination with scuba diving.
16. Possession and/ or consumption of Illegal drugs are heavily penalized in most of the countries where we operate and also constitute grounds for instant dismissal.
17. Our standards concerning customer service and professional attitude are a standard in the industry, you as candidate and part of the Euro-Divers team must follow those guidelines. Divemaster and instructor candidates who found themselves in breach of those guidelines will receive a written warning and may be dismissed.
To enter Egypt you will need a visa. You can obtain this visa before arrival at the Egyptian embassy in your country or get it at the airport upon arrival. The cost of the visa on arrival atthe airport is 15.00 USD.This visa will give you the right to stay for 30 days and can be extended at the Hurghada Passport Section for another 30 days. This extension must be done before you complete 30days in Egypt or you will need to pay a fine.You will need to provide a few documents and pay about 15.00 Euros to apply for a tourist visa extension: You will need copies of the entry visa page and passport number page (Your passport must be valid for at least 12 months) you will also need two passport size photos. Don't tell the authorities you are coming in Egypt to work. You are entering Egypt with a tourist visa to follow a diving training during your holiday. If you want you can apply for a one year visa with re-entry possibility so you can leave afteryour internship program and come back without re-paying your visa fee at the airport. Another set of copies are needed for this procedure as well as an extra fee (~ 15.00 Euros)
Once the starting dates of your internship are set you should start looking for your flight. Our Regional Manager can help with those reservations but the cost of the flight is to be paid by the candidate. Your maximum stay to benefit from the best charter flight prices is two months. Euro-Divers have good charters deals from Germany, Belgium, Italy and France.
On arrival and you should go straight to the bank counters on your left hand side and buy your visa stamp (In case you did not get your visa at home).After you pass immigration and customs, you will look for a representative of Euro-Divers Egypt, standing outside the arrival hall and carrying a Euro-Divers Logo. During the training days, we will provide with breakfast and lunch (either at the hotel or on board). Dinner is on the candidate expenses; at both Hurghada and El Gouna, you will find nice local and international food, including some fast food chains. Expect to spend between 4.00 to 8.00 Euros for a meal.
According to religion and law in Egypt you must not bring any items of the following: pornographic materials, drugs, pork products or weapons such as harpoons, spear fishing equipment knives etc. Our representative will bring you to the dive centre where you can meet your new colleagues and store your dive equipment. You will have half a day to unpack and feel at home before the starting the program the next day.
Room & Board: In case you are not able to locate accommodation, Euro-Divers can help you providing you with some contacts numbers. Expect to spend monthly, between 300.00 and 400.00 euros for a two bedroom flat in downtown and you can share this accommodation with other candidates attending the program.
Euro Divers runs two dive full dive centers in Egypt: Euro-Divers Club Med El Gouna and Grand Hotel Hurghada, plus one point of sale representation at the Siva Grand Beach. While Euro-Divers El Gouna is dedicated mainly to French speaking guests, the ones in Hurghada are dedicated mainly to German speaking guests. You will have the chance to visit and know the operation details of both of them but your training will be accordingly to your mother tongue.
Euro-Divers Grand Hotel: This center is a PADI 5* IDC Centre situated directly on the beach at the Grand Hotel Hurghada which is a 4 start hotel with 750 rooms, 4 kilometers from the Hurghada airport We have a direct access to a private beach and jetty known as Marina 5. Grand Hotel, Grand Resort and the Siva Grand Beach are Egyptian owned and fall under the Red Sea Hotels Group (www.redseahotels.com).
Euro-Divers Club Med El Gouna: This center is a PADI 5* IDC Centre located directly on the beach with its own private jetty. Orascom Hotel Developments owns the hotel built in the 80’s, which Club Méditerranée manages since 2004. It has 250 rooms and operates on a total all-inclusive system. In all dive centers, we speak English, including our local staff in charge of handling the equipment and filling the tanks.
The team of instructors and divemasters can vary between 6 -12 people and a nice mix of cultural diversity between Egyptian, Belgian, Dutch, Swiss, Italian and German.
Our daily schedule goes from 07.30 to 17:30 daily, exceptions on early morning trips and night dives. At this moment we use about 35 dive sites at each center, only 1/3 of those are the same for both centers, being El Gouna less busy on the dives sites then Hurghada. Boat trips to the dive sites takes between 45 to 90 minutes on our fleet of eight 22 to 28 meters boats shared in between Hurghada & El Gouna.
All of our centres operate with Luxfer Aluminum tanks, suits and and all other equipment is provided by Aqualung. We also provide Nitrox for free trough our NRC membrane system; divers, which are not nitrox divers, can attend courses with us. Internship candidate, are allowed to dive Nitrox as long as they are certified to do so. Certification as a Nitrox diver is part of the divemaster internship program.
The transportation to and from the dive center is your responsibility, in Hurghada taxis are easy available for ~15.00 EGP a trip from Sakala Sq. to the dive center. In El Gouna you can buy a monthly transportation pass for about 50.00 EGP valid anywhere inside El Gouna.
For the daytime it is fine to wear nice and clean shorts and a T-shirt (you will get some free of charge staff T-shirts). During the winter, a good windbreaker and some fleeces jackets are necessary on the boat and for the summer plan on brining caps and plenty of sunscreen. In El Gouna, you will be able to participate on the guest evening social activities, but a certain dress code is necessary, open shoes and shorts are not allowed in the evenings.
In Hurghada you are free for the evenings, you will find plenty of bars and places to go and eat at night in a very relax atmosphere, no requirements for this.
In Club Med you are allowed to (giving preference to the guests) use the facilities and sports free of charge like gym, sauna, sailing lessons, football, stretching classes etc.
In Hurghada, you will find fitness centers around town as well as by a small amount, a day pass use of the main hotels and their facilities.
It will not be a problem for you to get in touch with your family and friends, internet spots are available in town. El Gouna a wireless connection is available free of charge in some bars. The speed varies drastically but most of them offer ADSL connections. Prices vary from 2.00 Euros for an hour or 40.00 Euros for an unlimited monthly contract, plus set up fee & router.
The Go-Pro Divemaster Internship program offered by Euro-Divers Egypt puts you on the right path to become a professional divemaster and/or instructor. We designed this program to the individual that wishes to pursue a diving career but has not yet achieved a certification over Advanced Diver or equivalent. The program is conducted over a 40 to 60 days period and includes the following courses:
During the Go-Pro Divemaster program it is possible for you to log over 60 dives which will be conducted from our vessels or lagoon area. All will take place among beautiful coral reefs and a wide variety of wrecks and marine life. Completion of the full Go-Pro program results in a total of 9 certifications and gives you the necessary knowledge and experience to take your first job in the dive industry as Divemaster.
You may continue towards an instructor level once you have at least 100 logged dives and more than 6 months as an Open Water Diver.
Euro-Divers also organize Instructor Development Courses – IDC and you will be informed on how to apply at the end of your internship program. This program includes all fees, training materials, boat fees, certification fees, tanks and weight rental fees. The program does not include your required personal scuba equipment.
All requirements must be met before arrival and proof required on the first day of the program.

IMPORTANT: After completing the training module of the internship and achieving the DM rating, the candidates with an outstanding performance will have the possibility to stay up to three months and work as Dive Master in one of our dive centers in Egypt.
During these months the candidate will have meals (Breakfast & Lunch in Grand Hotel & three meals in El Gouna) covered by us, shared accommodation (If available or a flat allowance otherwise) plus a fixed salary to help recover the initial amount invested on the internship. Fix salary varies between centers and it depends on candidate performance during the internship and language skills.
The candidate must understand that the acceptance for admission is based upon meeting the requirements stated above and subject to the minimum and maximum class size requirements Candidates will be selected accordingly to their CV’s and motivation letter. The dive center is opened 7 days a week from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, including holiday’s dates.
The program will have scheduled days off, but candidates can expect to follow up to 12 hour’s work/train a day. Candidates are expected to attend every hour of class during the program and be on time. One unexcused absence, tardiness or misconduct will put the candidate on probation.
The candidate will be notified in writing and two notifications will lead to exclusion. Exams and water skills will be conducted following the PADI standards. All written tests must be passed with a score of 75 % or better, except where a higher score is required. Failure to meet minimum scores or failing written exams will place the student in probation If a student’s performance is below standard, he/she is made of aware of the problem, counseled and instructed on how to improve. As long as the candidate is willing to give the effort to learn, the trainers/instructors/staff will continue to teach. However the program has to follow a certain schedule and a candidate who, due to their own performance, is delayed for more then 15 days, will be dismissed Candidates will also be dismissed if found using drugs, including alcohol which affects the candidate’s behavior during the training. Other areas of evaluation are: courtesy, guest service, general attitude of motivation and competency, initiative, enthusiasm and common sense.
Candidates will be graded on a five point basis and an average of 3.5 is required in each phase of the training for program completion. Euro-Divers will keep the records of all academic and practical sessions for 5 years.
The next step after getting certified as Divemaster is to follow the normal Dive-Pro path and become a PADI instructor, we offer regular instructor courses a long the year and as in-house trainee you will profit from a 15% discount on the course fee if you wish to continue your education with us. Depending on your performance you can already receive a formal job offer from our part and increase this discount up to 30%.
The combination of these two parts makes up the continuous IDC. The first four days of the IDC are the AI course, and the following five days are spent for the OWSI program The IDC is a short and very demanding course where candidates will be tested on their diving knowledge and skills plus be taught on how to conduct PADI courses. Therefore it is fundamental that you prepare yourself well before joining the course.
